Introduction to Our Company

LEWCOR was founded in 1988 by the late Mr C.J. Lewis while contracted by the Overseas Petroleum and Investment Company (OPIC) Malaysia. Through the years, LEWCOR added to its construction and earth-moving equipment in order to compete in various construction projects in Namibia. Today, LEWCOR is a 100% Namibian company - all employees are Namibian Citizens. Lewcor sees itself as a family business consisting of LEWCOR Plant Hire Oranjemund (Pty) Ltd, LEWCOR Plant Hire (Pty) Ltd, LEWCOR Civils (Pty) Ltd as well as other smaller operations.

LEWCOR currently has a family business structure, consisting of LEWCOR Plant Hire Oranjemund (Pty) Ltd, LEWCOR Plant Hire (Pty) Ltd, LEWCOR Civils (Pty) Ltd as well as other smaller operations. LEWCOR may be regarded as a 100% Namibian corporation, stemming from the fact that all employees and managers are Namibian citizens.

Safety Profile

Safety is of the utmost importance and is non-negotiable to the LEWCOR group.

LEWCOR has got its own in house safety regulations and team responsible for all safety aspects at the sites.

All new employees must pass induction and safety tests before they are employed permanently at operational sites.

The good health of our human gems is of the utmost importance and is non-negotiable to the LEWCOR group therefor a safe work environment is established and maintained for each LEWCOR employee, contractor and visitor at any of our operations.

LEWCOR has got a Safety Management system in place in line with Namibian legislation and is supported by in house safety procedures and rules. Safety personnel are deployed at all LEWCOR operations to ensure that all operations comply and adhere to Namibian legislation, LEWCOR procedures and rules.
