Rent-A-Drum was established in 1989 and has grown into the biggest private enterprise of it’s kind in Namibia. Rent-A-Drum is the leading organization in waste management in Nmaibia and offers the most comprehensive service to Namibian corporations, mines, and smaller companies, including the citizens of Windhoek, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, Oshakati, Oranjemund and Rundu.

The company has grown exponentially in the past 30 years:

• Generates employment - over 500 Namibian employees.
• 96% of our staff is from racially disadvantage groups.
• We have a 100% Namibian Workforce and 42% of our workforce are women.
• 80 waste collecting and removal vehicles.
• First and only Material Recovery Facility in Namibia – launched in 2010.
• First Refuse Derived Fuel Plant in Namibia inaugurated on 15 March 2017.

Environmental impact:

• ± 76,000m³ of landfill airspace in Namibia saved annually
• Saved ± 180,000 trees through our recycling plants annually.
• We can light ± 6,200 light bulbs for one year through the recycling of cans
• We currently recycle an average of 17,000 tons per year at our Material
• Recovery Facility.
• ± 12,000 tons of RDF as alternative fuel for the use at Ohorongo Cement annually
